A.   General Descriptions:

1.    TCP/IP Protocol:

The 1st Security System to use TCP/IP as the Communication Protocol. All the security systems available in the market today, including both the traditional and biometrics ones, use the traditional serial communications protocol, such as RS-232 & RS-485, to connect the dedicated computers for data communications. These protocols are over thirty-year old and are notorious for their slow communication speed & reliability problems, and they are not compatible with the modern communication protocol like the TCP/IP, which is the standard protocol, used in the Internet.

IGuard FPS110 uses the TCP/IP as the communication protocol, which enables the device to directly connect to the corporate network via the standard RJ-45 cabling, without any additional hardware or dedicated computer.

2.    Built-In Web Server Module:

The built-in Web Server enables all the computers in the corporate network to directly access the device via the well-known Internet Browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer & Netscape Navigator. The computers are platform-independent, and different computer platform such as Apple Macintosh, Microsoft Windows & Unix machines can access the device. No additional software is required.

3.    Built-In Database Server Module:

The built-in Database Server allows all these computers to query the information of the device, and can easily retrieve the various reports via the Internet Browser, such as the transaction logs, attendance reports, time sheets, and more, (This function can be controlled by the system administrator)

All the information is real-time information, instead of week-old or day-old data. In contrast, other systems must use dedicated computers running special proprietary software to retrieve the information, and usually dedicated persons are required to perform the jobs.

4.    The Optional SMART CARD:

The device cold optionally equipped with the renowned Philips Mifare Contact less Smart Card Reader.  (MIFARER ® is an interface platform for contact less smart cards and readers according to the ISO 14443 A Standard). With this option, users can both use the conventional way or the smart card for user authentication. Each user will have his / her own smart card, which stores the user information including the name, company & branch code, and the fingerprint information.

Why need the smart card?

Normally, all the users' information is stored in the internal memory of each device, including the fingerprint template (a mathematical representation of the fingerprint image). The information requires a lot of memory space. Therefore, there is a limitation of the maximum number of users stored, and the current maximum number of users is 1,000, With the smart card, since the user information is no longer stores in the internal memory, the device can thus support many more users (i.e., up to 5,000 users). Although, it is easy to replicate all the user information across all devices within a Master / Slave configuration.

It is not too easy to replicate the data with other branches of the company in different geographic locations. This problem can be solved by using smart card to store the user information, and the user will carry his / her own information with him / her.

Also, this option allows almost-instant verification during the authorized period for entry, thus enables high-traffic applications (such as during the beginning of the day when everyone gets to the office at about the same time).

5.    Remote Door Controller (Optional):

This controller further increases the security level by controlling the door strike from inside of the premises. With this optional controller, the IGuard sends a special signal to this controller to open the door, rather than directly open the door with the internal relay. Because this optional controller is installed inside the premises, it is now impossible for the intruders to get into the premises, even if they break the IGuard.

B. Features:

IGuard FPS110 is elegantly designed with the following features:

IGuard FPS110 is a wall-mounted unit with a very small footprint. In fact, it is the smallest device available in the market today. It can be mounted easily and conveniently without requiring too much space.

• It has a total of 12 keys for employees to enter their IDs, including the numeric keys 0-9 and the alpha keys A-B, while all other systems have numeric keys only. It also accepts a wide range of the length of the ID (from 1 to 10 characters long), while other systems limit the ID to exactly four characters long. As a result, most companies can retain their existing Employee-ID-assignment system without any change.
• A 16 x 2 LED display with backlight ensures that users can see the display clearly even in some relatively dark office environment.
• The four Green & Red indicators, plus the clear audible sound, can clearly indicate the go-no-go result of each access.
• The fingerprint sensor is angle-up by about 10 degrees, so users can comfortably place their thumb on the sensor, and it helps in obtaining better fingerprint image.
• All the necessary hardware is built-in to the device, including the hardware to connect the system to the corporate network. All the users need to do is to plug-in the most popular RJ-45 network cable to the back of the device. No other hardware and wiring is necessary.

 In contrast, all other existing security systems use the old RS232 & RS485 wiring system to connect to the dedicated computers (not to the corporate network), and it usually involves a lot of extra wiring works.

C.  User-Friendliness

 IGuard FPS110 is an Internet-Ready Security System. It is the first and the only security product in the market that uses TCP/IP as the protocol to communicate with the outside world. The protocol enables the device to directly connect to the corporate network via the existing cable wiring. And since the TCP/IP protocol is the Internet protocol, it allows all computers in the corporate network to access the device using the Internet Browser software. Since it utilizes the Internet Browser Interface, users do not need to learn to use a new software to access and administer the device, and most users can start using the device in minutes. In contrast, all other similar security systems use proprietary protocol & wiring, and proprietary software is required to access these systems. IGuard can be accessed by many users simultaneously.

D.  Completeness

IGuard FPS110 is a complete product. All the required hardware and software is included and embedded in the system. Unlike all other systems available today, users do not need to assign dedicated computers to connect and operate IGuard FPS110. And it is also not necessary to assign dedicated persons to administer the device.

E.  Enhanced Reporting Capability

IGuard FPS110 can generate various reports in two formats: TEXT & Excel (xls) formats.  All reports can easily be downloaded directly from the IGuard machine via the Internet Browser.  The format can be selected when exporting the reports as shown in the following screen:

 F. Easy & Efficient Information Management:

 

The reports can be exported directly in the popular XLS format, that enables smooth integration with office suite applications such as Microsoft XCEL.  Various reports can then be easily generated using the built-in features of the office suite application.   In this way, companies can design their own report formats that are best suitable to their existing operations. using Excel's built-in "AutoFilter" function for data filtering

Improving the quality & timeless of Payroll Preparation

Since the attendance data can easily & accurately be obtained in a real-time manner, the payroll preparation process can be fully automated. using Excel's built-in "PivotTable Report..." function for automatic payroll calculation for each employee

Enables sophisticated analysis

With all the rich graphic reporting features found in most office suite applications today, people can be shifted from dealing with the routine to dealing with the exceptions, and the management can easily detect any abnormal attendance performance of each employee.
